NNCG Applies to INEC for Registration of New Political Party, ADA

The National Coalition Group (NNCG) has formally submitted an application to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) seeking the registration of a new political party named the All Democratic Alliance (ADA).

TJ News Nigeria gathered that the application letter, dated June 19, 2025, was officially acknowledged by INEC on June 20, 2025. The submission was signed by Chief Akin A. Rickets, the Protem National Chairman of the association.

Details of the Application

According to the letter titled “Application for Registration as a Political Party,” the association requested INEC to register the All Democratic Alliance (ADA) as a political party in line with Nigeria’s electoral laws.

The letter read in part:

“We respectfully write to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, requesting the registration of our association, the All Democratic Alliance, ADA, as a political party.

“This is sequel to the decision taken by the Nigerian National Coalition Group to sponsor our association for full registration.”

The proposed acronym for the party is ADA, with “Justice for All” as its slogan.

Party Identity, Ideology, and Structure

The application detailed the association’s readiness by including all relevant documentation required for registration by law. Among the attached documents are:

  • The party’s official logo, with explanations of its symbolism, colours, and the depiction of corn (maize) as a key element.
  • A comprehensive manifesto outlining the ideological framework of the ADA.
  • The party’s constitution, providing its legal framework, structure, organization, and guiding principles.
  • The party flag, complete with the name, acronym, and slogan.
  • Minutes of meetings leading to the resolution to seek INEC registration.

According to Chief Akin A. Rickets, the party’s objectives align with Section 40 and 222 of the Nigerian Constitution, Section 75 of the Electoral Act, 2022, and global democratic principles.

“We have further attached our manifesto encompassing details of our party ideology, and our constitution providing the legal framework that defines our identity, structures and organization… in alignment with constitutional provisions and democratic objectives,” the letter added.

Awaiting INEC’s Response

The association expressed optimism that INEC would expedite the consideration process for the official registration of the ADA.

“While we eagerly await further action from the Commission on the next step forward towards attaining our desired goal, please accept the consideration of our highest respect,” Chief Rickets concluded.

As of the time of this report, INEC has yet to issue an official response regarding the application.
