President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Muhammad Babangida, son of Nigeria’s former military Head of State, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, as the new Chairman of the Bank of Agriculture (BOA).
TJ News Nigeria reports that the appointment was officially announced in a statement issued on Friday, July 18, 2025, by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, Muhammad Babangida, aged 53, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Public Relations and Business Communication from the European University in Montreux, Switzerland. He also completed the Executive Program on Corporate Governance at Harvard Business School in 2002.
