A prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker, Rt. Hon. (Rev) Francis Ejiroghene Waive, has called on the party’s leadership in Delta State to adopt Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as the APC’s sole gubernatorial candidate for the 2027 election.
Hon. Waive, who represents Ughelli North, Ughelli South, and Udu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, stated that no candidate can defeat Governor Oborevwori in the next election, emphasizing his strong governance record and close ties with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Why Governor Oborevwori Should Be APC’s Candidate
Speaking to journalists, Hon. Waive highlighted Governor Oborevwori’s achievements, describing his administration as people-oriented, with quality projects and impactful programs that have exceeded public expectations.
“Governor Sheriff has shocked every Deltan with his development initiatives. His governance style and excellent relationship with President Tinubu prove that he understands leadership at the highest level. With him as APC’s candidate, victory in 2027 is certain,” Waive said.
He also pointed out that Governor Oborevwori’s potential move to APC would resolve internal conflicts within the party in Delta State, strengthening its chances in the upcoming elections.
APC-Tinubu Alliance: A Path to Victory?
Hon. Waive expressed confidence that a joint ticket featuring Governor Oborevwori and President Tinubu would ensure a smooth electoral victory for APC.
“This synergy is what Delta APC needs right now. It will not only bring peace to the party but also guarantee success in 2027,” he added.
He further noted that the governorship rotation formula among Delta’s three senatorial districts favors Governor Oborevwori, as he has only one term left to serve.
Call for Unity and Support
Hon. Waive urged all Deltans and APC stakeholders to support the adoption of Governor Oborevwori as the party’s gubernatorial candidate, stating that it would foster unity and stability in the state.
“This is the way forward for our party and our people. Let us unite behind Governor Sheriff to secure a better future for Delta State,” he concluded.
With the 2027 elections approaching, political discussions around APC’s strategy in Delta State are intensifying, and Governor Oborevwori’s potential candidacy could reshape the political landscape in the state.
