Popular Auchi Polytechnic Lecturer Caught with Married Woman, Stripped and Flogged in Viral Video

A viral video has surfaced online showing a man, alleged to be a lecturer at Auchi Polytechnic, being stripped, flogged, and subjected to inhumane treatment by a group of unidentified men. The incident, which reportedly occurred in Auchi, Edo State, has sparked outrage and a flurry of reactions on social media.

TJ News Nigeria obtained the viral video, which shows the lecturer in a distressed state, surrounded by several men who physically assaulted him. The assailants accused him of having an affair with a married woman—an allegation yet to be officially confirmed by authorities.

While the identity of the lecturer has not been formally released, several online users, including alleged students of the institution, have claimed to know the man personally and described him as a respected academic.

Outrage Over Jungle Justice

“In as much as what the man did was very wrong, what they did to that man was also very wrong and must be condemned by every right-thinking person,” one user wrote.

Another commenter identified as Stephen Emmanuel (@StepbySteps101), stated:

“You have no such right to take laws into your hands. There’s no room for jungle justice in the constitution, so why won’t you be jailed for this?”

Some Nigerians also criticized those cheering in the video and those supporting the attackers online, describing their behavior as hypocritical.

“The way Nigerians are cheering for the people dehumanizing this man really shows how shallow-minded they are. These are the same people who want a better country while neglecting the law,” another comment read.

Student Alleges Set-Up

A Twitter user identified as Ak Akomaye (@AkomayeAk), who claimed to be one of the lecturer’s students, posted:

“This man is my lecturer. He is a nice and intelligent person. We were all surprised in the department when the news broke out. It all looked like a set-up. He teaches us Sampling Technique and is also good at analyzing data. The police should do proper investigation into the issue.”
