The Emmanuel Urhobo Catholic Joint Choir (EUCJC) Sapele Zone, under the leadership of its chairman, Hon. Festus Oyibo, held its first-ever crusade in Adagbrasa Elume from Friday, January 24, to Sunday, January 25, 2025. This historic event marked a significant milestone for the EUCJC Sapele Zone, which was established in 2024 after its creation from the Okpe Zone.
A Spirit-Filled Beginning
The crusade commenced with a Holy Mass celebrated by the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Bassey, at 5:00 PM at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Adagbrasa Elume. The Mass set a reverent tone for the event, which aimed to reignite the spiritual fervor of the community.
Following the Mass, the open-air ministry was held at the Adagbrasa Elume town hall premises. Evangelist Brother Emeka Olofu delivered a powerful first-day ministration, captivating the audience with a message of hope, renewal, and salvation.
On Saturday, January 25, Rev. Fr. Andrew Okagbare delivered an impactful lecture titled The Chorister and The Holy Eucharist, highlighting the vital role of choristers in the celebration of the Eucharist and their spiritual responsibilities.
Transformational Supernatural Ministration
On the second day, the crusade reached its spiritual climax with a supernatural ministration led by Rev. Fr. Paul Akpebe. His inspiring message and fervent prayers touched the hearts of many, leading to life-changing moments for attendees.
The event culminated in the conversion of 48 individuals, including those who had distanced themselves from the church, many of whom pledged to return to their faith and serve God wholeheartedly.
Wide Support and Attendance
The EUCJC Sapele Zone received overwhelming support from other zones, including the parent Okpe Zone. Members from neighboring zones gathered in solidarity, creating a vibrant atmosphere of worship and fellowship.
EUCJC: A Ministry of Evangelism Through Song
The Emmanuel Urhobo Catholic Joint Choir is a renowned singing ministry within the Catholic Church, dedicated to spreading the Gospel of the Kingdom of God through music and evangelism. The Sapele Zone, though newly established, has already demonstrated its commitment to this mission by organizing such a landmark event.
Impact and Future Plans
The success of the crusade in Adagbrasa Elume signifies a promising future for the EUCJC Sapele Zone. The event not only strengthened the faith of attendees but also showcased the choir’s ability to bring communities together under the banner of evangelism.
As the Sapele Zone continues to grow, its leadership is expected to organize more spiritually enriching programs to further its mission and inspire greater devotion among its members and the wider community.
