President Donald Trump escalated his rhetoric against Iran on Tuesday, declaring that the United States knows the whereabouts of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, but has chosen not to target him “for now.”

In a series of posts on his Truth Social platform, the US president warned that patience with Tehran was “wearing thin” as tensions in the Middle East continue to spiral following Israel’s attacks on Iranian leadership positions and suspected nuclear sites.

TJ News Nigeria reports that Trump, while stopping short of directly mentioning Israel, appeared to signal strong US backing for the military operations already underway.

“We know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there — We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now,” Trump wrote.

“But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Minutes later, Trump posted another message in capital letters: “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!” — fueling speculation over potential US military involvement in the escalating conflict.

The posts come as diplomatic efforts to halt hostilities between Iran and Israel appear increasingly uncertain. Trump had previously indicated that Iran could still accept a US-brokered deal to abandon its nuclear program, but suggested that time was running out.

TJ News Nigeria learnt that Trump also claimed on Tuesday that the US has “complete and total control of the skies over Iran,” crediting American-made weaponry without naming Israel directly.

Israel, Washington’s closest ally in the Middle East, has issued similar statements about aerial superiority over Iranian territories in recent days.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump emphasized his preference for a decisive resolution rather than temporary measures.

“I want a real end, not a ceasefire,” he said, adding: “I’m not in too much of a mood to negotiate.”

The heightened rhetoric from Washington follows weeks of intensifying military exchanges between Israel and Iran, raising global fears of a broader regional conflict.

Trump’s administration has so far resisted direct military involvement but has increasingly hinted at potential intervention should American interests or personnel be threatened.
