Olajide Isiaka Lawal‘s full name is Olajide Isiaka Lawal, and he was born on May 7, 1970, in Lagos, Nigeria. He grew up in the Mushin area of the state.
Olajide Lawal was born in Nigeria and turned 51 years old in May 2021.
Education of Olajide Lawal
Olajide Lawal went to Adewunmi Memorial Nursery and Primary School in Papa Ajao, Mushin, and then Eko Boys’ High School in Mushin, both in Lagos State.
After that, the new General Manager of Radio Lagos and Eko FM went to the Ogun State Polytechnic in Abeokuta, now Moshood Abiola Polytechnic MAPOLY, where he earned a Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication.
Olajide Lawal also holds a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication from the Nigeria Open University NOUN and a Master of Science in International Law and Diplomacy from the Lagos State University LASU.
Olajide Lawal’s Profession
On December 23, 1994, Olawale Lawal joined the Lagos State Public Service as an Information Officer. He has worked as a Public Affairs Officer in a variety of ministries and agencies, including Health, Women’s Affairs, and Poverty Alleviation, Establishment, over the years.
Training and Pensions, Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Relations, New Towns Development Authority, Works and Infrastructure, Education, Office of the Head of Service, Office of the Special Adviser on Education, and the Parastatal Monitoring Office are among the ministries and agencies where he has worked.
Before his most recent appointment as General Manager of Eko FM and Radio Lagos, Olawale Lawal rose through the ranks to become the Deputy Director of Public Affairs.
As an associate cement of the Association of Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), and a member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, the new General Manager also attended many courses and seminars on Public Relations practise (NUJ).
Eko FM/Radio Lagos
Radio Lagos 107.5 FM, also known as Tiwa n’ Tiwa, first broadcasted in 1977 as part of the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC).
The broadcasting house is Lagos State’s first state-owned FM radio station, and it is known for providing information in Yoruba and Egun.
Eko FM, on the other hand, was founded in 1997 and is also owned by the Lagos State Government; unlike Radio Lagos, which broadcasts in indigenous languages, Eko FM broadcasts in English.
