Renowned advocate and social commentator, Sanco Ese, has spoken out against the recent violent incident that erupted in Abraka, Delta State, between local indigenes and security forces. In a strongly worded statement made available to TJ News Nigeria, Ese condemned the confrontation, described it as “shameful and unacceptable,” and paid tribute to the youths who bravely stood their ground.

“I salute the gallant youths of Abraka. May the souls of those who lost their lives rest in perfect peace,” Ese began, expressing grief over the casualties recorded during the incident.

TJ News Nigeria gathered that tensions flared after members of the local vigilante group, acting in synergy with the Nigerian Police, reportedly launched a targeted operation against suspected kidnappers in the area. The operation, which was hailed by many as a significant strike against criminality, resulted in the elimination of several suspects believed to be terrorizing residents.

However, TJ News Nigeria learned that a retaliatory attack by alleged members of the kidnap syndicate left at least two Abraka indigenes dead. The tragedy sparked widespread outrage and renewed calls for community-led security efforts.

Sanco Ese, in his statement, criticized what he described as a longstanding pattern of intimidation, fear, and systemic abuse endured by the people of Abraka and many other communities in Nigeria.

“Peaceful protest is a fundamental right guaranteed under the Nigerian Constitution. No individual or institution has the right to silence a people who have been continuously tormented with no hope of justice or reprieve,” he stated.

Quoting Emperor Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia, Ese lamented the historical silence and indifference that often allow evil to thrive.

“Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have acted, the indifference of those who should have known better, and the silence of the voice of justice that made it possible for evil to triumph,” he declared.

According to him, the people have been subjected to psychological warfare—browbeaten, intimidated, and reduced to a “cowardly timidity” in the face of escalating violence, systemic injustice, and state-backed repression.

“This is not just physical oppression. It is spiritual affliction. It is witchcraft. It is an abomination,” he emphasized.

Ese applauded the bold initiative of the local vigilante unit and the police to confront criminal elements in their hideouts, describing their actions as “commendable” and “necessary.”

“The move to carry the war into the den of the kidnappers and eliminate a sizeable number of these blood-thirsty demons is highly commendable. I am proud of them,” he wrote.

He further noted that the retaliatory killings by the criminal group were signs of emotional and tactical injury dealt to the syndicate, and urged the communities not to relent in their efforts to ensure safety and justice.

“It is our moral duty to send these criminals to their creator. Whether God forgives them or not is entirely up to Him,” he said.

Sanco Ese also used the opportunity to call on all communities across Nigeria to rise and collaborate with both government and security agencies in defending their territories.

“The time to speak the truth—regardless of how inconvenient—is now. Enough of the silence,” he stated.

In his final prayer, he declared, “May God guide and protect us all, in Jesus’ name.”

Sanco Ese signed off the statement by reaffirming his commitment to justice and truth, saying:

“My name is Sanco Ese. I am God’s Pen of Intervention.”
