1. Hospital-Based Consultants (Department of Surgery)

Location: Abia

Qualification Requirements:

MBBS or equivalent medical degree

NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate

Current license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria

Fellowship of the National or West African Postgraduate Medical College (or equivalent)

Research publications in reputable medical journals (added advantage)

2. Medical Laboratory Scientist

Qualification Requirements:

Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (MBLS)

NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate

Valid practicing license from the Institute of Medical Laboratory Science of Nigeria

3. Optometrist

Qualification Requirements:

Doctor of Optometry (O.D.)

NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate

Registered with the General Optical Council of Nigeria

Referee report from at least one former University Teacher

4. Abia State Civil Service Commission recruitment for Nursing Officer

Qualification Requirements:

NRN or NRM certificate, registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria

Specialization in any of the following areas is an added advantage:
Anaesthesia, Paediatrics, Accident & Emergency (A&E), Preoperative, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, ICU, Nephrology, Dental, Emergency, ENT, Orthopaedics

B.Sc. Nursing (added advantage)

Experience in a Tertiary Institution (added advantage)

5. Physiotherapist

Qualification Requirements:

Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation or B.Sc. Physiotherapy (BMR/B. Physio)

NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate

Practicing license from the Medical Rehabilitation Therapist Board (MRTB)

6. Pharmacist

Qualification Requirements:

Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm)

NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate

License from the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria

7. Abia State Civil Service Commission recruitment for Medical / Dental Officers

Qualification Requirements:

MBBS for Medical Officers / B.D.S. for Dental Officers

NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate

Current practicing license

Tertiary hospital experience (added advantage)

8. Medical Radiographer

Qualification Requirements:

DCR, DIR, or B.Sc. in Radiography or equivalent

NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate

License from the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria

 

9. Dental Technologist /Dental Therapist

Requirements

B. Tech certification and current license from the dental technologists’ board of Nigeria

NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption Certificates.

Three referee reports with at least one from the candidate’s former University.

Salary and Allowances

According to the Commission, salaries and benefits for all positions will be determined in accordance with the Public Service Structure, in line with current civil service standards.
